First off… You’re not alone
Did you know that about 35 million men and 21 million women in the US experience hair loss or hair thinning by the age of 35 and hair loss continues throughout their entire adult life. Most women are unaware of the scope of this problem thinking incorrectly that it’s only you or limited to just a small group of women with hormonal or other conditions. Up until a few years ago the treatment options were very expensive, had significant downtime, pain & often left large scars from the donor areas. Well, that was a few years ago….
What is PRP Gold?
PRP Gold is Forever Young MedSpa’s Trademarked service. Commonly known as Platelet rich Plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood plasma which contains approximately 300 to 500% the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood.
Forever Young MedSpa has been working with PRP not for a few months or a few years. We’ve used PRP for facial and hair line rejuvenation for over 6 years. This treatment, using your own blood is an easy, natural, safe & effective treatment in which we spin off Platelet Rich Plasma, remove the Red Blood Cells leaving Pure PRP Gold with highest levels of growth factors & bioactive proteins in the industry.
These Growth Factors include:
- Platelet-derived growth factor
- Transforming growth factor beta
- Fibroblast growth factor
- Insulin-like growth factor 1
- Insulin-like growth factor 2
- Vascular endothelial growth factor
- Epidermal growth factor
- Interleukin 8
- Keratinocyte growth factor
- Connective tissue growth factor
- Cytokines and other bioactive proteins
Growth Factors & Bioactive Proteins are the magic and allow for hair growth along with thicker and healthier hair. Patients with a condition known as Androgenetic Alopecia have also shown improvement with PRP Gold treatments.
PRP has been used for years to facilitate wound healing, orthopedic injuries and medical aesthetic uses. Recently, many published studies have shown that PRP is a safe and effective treatment option for male and female pattern hair loss.
How is PRP Gold Different?
Our Trademarked PRP Gold utilizes a “double-centrifuge” technique that allows the active biologic factors of serum to be administered at the most effective concentration. This double processing is super concentrates the Growth Factors and in a final step, all Red Blood Cells are removed. The remaining PRP is now Gold or Amber in appearance. Most patients have told us that because the color of PRP is Gold and not Red they feel much better without “blood” all over their scalp or on their face if patients face is treated with PRP Gold.
How many treatments will I need?
If PRP Gold hair loss therapy is appropriate, we can begin your treatment at the time of your consultation. Most patients will require 3-4 treatment sessions each about 4-6 weeks apart. Final results are 3-4 month following your last session and follow up treatments are then prescribed twice a year to maintain the improvement
For most patients, the procedure takes about 45-60 minutes. While the injections and application with the DermaPen are not particularly painful, we do offer patients at a small additional charge, our ProNox System which provides a 50/50 mix of Nitric Oxide and Oxygen prior to the injections which helps to reduce discomfort & anxiety.
No two patients are exactly alike and we may modify your treatment schedule based on your individual response to therapy. Our staff has the expertise to know when PRP for hair loss is appropriate and the skill to inject the proper quantity of PRP at just the right depth to achieve the desired result — that skill that cannot be overstated.
How Does PRP Gold Work?
So… How exactly does PRP Gold Work? The different Growth Factors, Cytokines & other bioactive proteins work together to stimulate the growth of follicles, thereby first arresting and then reversing hair loss with improved hair health and follicle vitality.
PRP Gold super concentration of these Growth Factors aids the body’s naturally-occurring wound healing mechanism. It is also believed that PRP can actually stimulate the stem cells (dermal papilla) of the newly transplanted hair follicles.
For patient with thinning hair, Alopecia or male & female pattern baldness, PRP can be injected and applied with our Dermapen 3 into the balding scalp to potentially stimulate thin (miniaturized) hair to grow into thicker (terminal) hairs.
Patients with thinning, but not totally bald, areas are the best candidates.
